Yangyang is one of the vanguards of the Midnight Rangers who protect Jinzhou; a cheerful Resonator who was once among the protected and now fights alongside the wind to protect others. She is a 4★ character who wields a Sword with the Aero element. In battle she builds Melody stacks and dives from the air with Feather Release, and her Resonance Skill and Resonance Liberation pull enemies into a single point. Her real value lies in her Outro Skill: It gives the next character 4 Resonance Energy per second for 5 s, so she finds a place on teams as an energy support for main DPS characters who depend on their Liberation.
Yangyang is a free 4★ Resonator: She joins your team in the prologue of the main story, so you do not have to pull for her. The extra copies needed to complete her Sequences (Resonance Chain) can drop from every standard and limited Convene banner; her drop rate increases when she is among the featured 4★ characters on limited banners. She was most recently featured on Qingxiao's "Wind of Transcendence" banner in the first half of Version 3.6 (August 20 to September 10, 2026).

5-piece: Upon using Outro Skill, increases the ATK of the next Resonator by 22.5% for 15s.
Raises the next character's ATK by 22.5% after the Outro Skill; the 10% Energy Regen from the 2-piece also helps you get closer to the 140% target. The best set for a support Yangyang.
2-piece: Aero DMG + 10%.
5-piece: Aero DMG + 30% for 15s after releasing Intro Skill.
If you play Yangyang for her own damage, the 30% Aero DMG after the Intro Skill provides more personal damage.
Bell-Borne Geochelone
Its Echo Skill deals Glacio DMG based on DEF and sets up a shield that gives the team 50% damage reduction and a 10% damage increase; since it can also be used with the Moonlit Clouds set, it suits a support Yangyang very well.
Raise Energy Regen to around 140% to keep the Outro and Liberation ready every rotation; if your substats fall short, pick an Energy Regen main stat on one of the 3-cost Echoes. Past this threshold, load up on crit stats.
The standard banner's 5★ Sword. It gives 24.3% Crit. Rate at Lv 90; its 12.8% Energy Regen passive makes Yangyang's energy target easier, and the ATK bonus after a Resonance Skill also adds to her damage.
Changli's signature weapon. It gives 48.6% Crit. DMG and 12% ATK; the Searing Feather stacks filled by Resonance Skills boost the damage of Zephyr Domain.
Stands out among the 4★ options: Its 36.5% ATK main stat and the 20% Basic and Heavy Attack DMG Bonus after a Resonance Skill help Feather Release and Stormy Strike.
A 4★ Sword that grants 15% ATK for 15 s after an Intro Skill; an easy-to-get option that suits Yangyang's short time on the field.
A 4★ option with ATK stacks that fill on entering the field and decrease over time, working well in short rotations.

Consists of a four-hit Aero combo, a Heavy Attack that dashes forward at the cost of Stamina, a plunging attack and a Dodge Counter. Pressing Basic Attack after a Heavy Attack or Dodge Counter performs Zephyr Song; both Zephyr Song hits and the 4th Basic Attack grant Melody, her Forte resource.
Yangyang creates a wind vortex with her sword, pulling nearby enemies to the center and dealing Aero DMG. Perfect for grouping scattered enemies; it grants 1 Melody on hit.
Yangyang holds up to 3 Melody; the 4th Basic Attack, Zephyr Song, Resonance Skill hits and the Intro Skill each grant one Melody. At 3 Melody she can perform Stormy Strike after a Heavy Attack or Dodge Counter, or use a mid-air Basic Attack to consume all Melody and start the Feather Release dive; the landing hit counts as Basic Attack DMG.
Yangyang summons a powerful Cyclone that pulls nearby enemies in and deals Aero DMG. Used to gather large groups of enemies into a single point and set them up for teammates' area damage.
Launches the target into the air on entry, dealing Aero DMG and granting 1 Melody. Thanks to the Lazuline Mercy passive, her Aero DMG Bonus also increases by 8% for 8 s afterward.
When Yangyang leaves the field, the next character gains 4 Resonance Energy per second for 5 s, 20 in total. This is her main support tool, speeding up the loop of main DPS characters who rely on their Liberation.
After using Feather Release from the air, Yangyang recovers 30 Stamina. It keeps you from running short on Stamina for a dodge or a new combo after the dive.
After using the Intro Skill Cerulean Song, Yangyang's Aero DMG Bonus increases by 8% for 8 s. This is why starting her own damage window with the Intro is more efficient.
When the target's Off-Tune level is full, Yangyang can perform the Sword-specific Tune Break attack. A shared mechanic that opens an extra damage window on the staggered enemy.
She comes for free and appears often on banners, so her Sequences build up naturally over time. The most valuable is S6, which gives the team 20% ATK; before that, S3, which raises Resonance Skill DMG and pull range, makes the clearest difference.
The Intro Skill Cerulean Song increases Aero DMG Bonus by an additional 15% for 8 s; together with Lazuline Mercy, the total increase reaches 23%.
Heavy Attack hits grant Yangyang an extra 10 Resonance Energy (once every 20 s); you reach your Liberation faster.
Resonance Skill DMG Bonus increases by 40%; the pull effect of the wind field becomes stronger and its range expands by 33%.
Feather Release from the air deals 95% more damage.
The Resonance Liberation Wind Spirals deals 85% more damage.
After using Feather Release, the whole team's ATK increases by 20% for 20 s; it turns Yangyang into a true team booster.

As a support, 5-piece Moonlit Clouds is the best; it raises the next character's ATK by 22.5% after the Outro. Use Bell-Borne Geochelone as the main Echo; for a damage-focused build, you can switch to the Sierra Gale and Nightmare: Feilian Beringal pairing.
She has no signature weapon; the best option is the standard 5★ Sword Emerald of Genesis, and Blazing Brilliance is a strong alternative. On the 4★ side, Lumingloss, Commando of Conviction and Lunar Cutter do the job.
They portray the same person in the story, but in the game they are two separate Resonators. Yangyang is a 4★ Aero Sword support; Yangyang: Xuanling is a limited 5★ Havoc Sword main DPS released in Version 3.5, pulled and built separately.
She does the job as an energy support: Her Outro's energy transfer and her enemy grouping make life easier for Liberation-dependent DPS characters like Jiyan or Xiangli Yao. At S0 she has no damage buff, so in top-tier teams she usually gives way to stronger supports; her value rises once she starts giving the team 20% ATK at S6.
To ascend her you need Roaring Rock Fist from Feilian Beringal, Wintry Bell and the Ring series (from Crude to Tailored Ring). Her skills use the Metallic Drip series, Rings and Unending Destruction, the weekly material dropped by Scar.
