"Mistcloak Strike" The information broker behind the mist
Aalto is a cheerful but equally mysterious information broker who is said to find any kind of information for whoever pays the right price; behind the scenes, he has close ties to the Black Shores. He is a 4★ Aero Resonator who wields Pistols and plays with mist in combat. He distracts enemies with his Mist Avatars and rains down Mist Bullets by passing through the mist or through the Gate of Quandary he sets up with his Liberation. His real value lies in his Outro Skill, which amplifies the next character's Aero DMG by 23% for 14 s, so he is used as an accessible Sub DPS and support alongside Aero Main DPS characters such as Jiyan, Cartethyia and Qingxiao.
As a 4★ Resonator, Aalto can be pulled from every standard and limited Convene banner; his odds rise noticeably when he is one of the rate-up 4★ characters on a limited banner. In the second phase of version 3.6 (September 10-29, 2026), he was one of the rate-up 4★ characters, alongside Mortefi and Yuanwu, on the character banners, including Jingran's "Where Santu Beckons" banner. There is no permanent way to get him for free; to complete his Sequences (Resonance Chain), you need to pull him again and again.
2-piece: Energy Regen + {0}.
5-piece: Upon using Outro Skill, increases the ATK of the next Resonator by 22.5% for 15s.
After the Outro, increases the next character's ATK by 22.5%. Combined with Aalto's 23% Aero Amplify, it gives the Main DPS a double boost, and the 2-piece Energy Regen also speeds up the rotation.
2-piece: Aero DMG + 10%.
If you do not yet have well-rolled Echoes for 5-piece Moonlit Clouds, use 2-piece Moonlit Clouds + 2-piece Sierra Gale to get Energy Regen and Aero DMG together; this plays Aalto in a slightly more damage-focused way.
Impermanence Heron
Restores 10 Resonance Energy when its first hit lands; if you use the Outro within 15 s, the next character's damage increases by 12% for 15 s.
Aalto's job is to hand off his Outro quickly. Raise Energy Regen to around 120% so you can use his Liberation every rotation, then stack crit stats. The classic 4-3-3-1-1 Echo layout is enough.
Carlotta's signature weapon. Its 72% Crit. DMG main stat and the 48% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus that lasts 5 s after an Intro or Liberation directly boost his Mist Bullets, which count as Resonance Skill damage.
The standard banner's 5★ Pistols. With 24.3% Crit. Rate, 12.8% Energy Regen and 10% ATK for the next character for 14 s after the Outro, it suits a support-focused Aalto very well.
The best 4★ option. Its 30.4% ATK main stat and a 20% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus for 15 s after an Intro fit his short, Intro-opened rotation well.
4★; using a Resonance Skill grants 6 Resonance Energy and 10% ATK for 16 s (once every 20 s), helping you use his Liberation more often.
4★; a simple but effective option with a 30.4% ATK main stat and an ATK bonus of up to 12% that stacks with dodges and dashes.

Totals are calculated from game data: Every ascension stage from 1→90, skills 1→10 and every skill tree node.
Performs an Aero combo of up to five shots; the 4th Basic Attack spreads a Mist over the area in front of him that lasts 1.5 s. His Heavy Attack fires a powerful aimed shot, and in mid-air he spends Stamina to open rapid fire. Shots that pass through the mist and hit restore Mist Drops, his Forte resource.
Spreads mist around him and summons a Mist Avatar. The Avatar taunts nearby enemies, takes over part of Aalto's HP and creates 6 Mist Bullets. These bullets count as Resonance Skill damage and let you fire safely into large groups.
When Aalto passes through a Mist or the Gate of Quandary, he enters the Mistcloak Dash state. His movement speed increases and he produces one Mist Bullet for each Mist Drop he spends. He holds up to 6 Mist Drops; Basic Attacks and mid-air shots that pass through mist and hit the target grant new Mist Drops.
Creates a Gate of Quandary in front of him that deals Aero DMG; bullets passing through the gate deal increased damage, and the gate stays open for 10 s. Positioning yourself so that your shots pass through the gate raises your damage considerably.
Aalto suddenly appears and deals Aero DMG with quick, rapid shots. It is the move that opens his rotation, which keeps him on the field only briefly.
The next character's Aero DMG is amplified by 23% for 14 s or until they leave the field. This buff is Aalto's real value to the team; he shines alongside Aero Main DPS characters.
Aalto's Heavy Attack is a guaranteed critical hit once every 30 s. Using his aimed shot in this window means a guaranteed crit.
While in the Mistcloak Dash state from his Forte Circuit, Aalto constantly regenerates Stamina. Dashing from mist to mist keeps you mobile and makes it easier to shoot in mid-air without worrying about Stamina.
When the target's Off-Tune level is full, Aalto can perform the Pistols-specific Tune Break attack. It is a mechanic shared by all Resonators that opens an extra damage window on the staggered enemy.
S3 gives the biggest jump because it adds extra bullets to every shot that passes through mist, while S6 noticeably strengthens the Liberation window. As a 4★, his Sequences pile up over time, but an S0 Aalto still delivers the full Outro buff.
The cooldown of the Resonance Skill Shift Trick is reduced by 4 s, so you summon Mist Avatars and Mist Bullets more often.
The Mist Avatar inherits 100% more HP from Aalto; Aalto's ATK increases by 15% when he attacks targets taunted by the Avatar.
When Basic Attacks or mid-air shots pass through mist, 2 extra bullets are created that deal 50% of that shot's damage; this is the Sequence with the biggest damage increase.
Mist Bullet damage increases by 30%; damage Aalto takes during Mistcloak Dash is reduced by 30%.
While in the Mistcloak Dash state, his Aero DMG Bonus increases by 25% for 6 s.
Flower in the Mist additionally increases Crit. Rate by 8%; Heavy Attacks that pass through the Gate of Quandary deal 50% more damage.

When you play him as a support, 5-piece Moonlit Clouds is the best, since it increases the next character's ATK by 22.5% after the Outro. Use Impermanence Heron as the main Echo; if you want a little more damage, 2-piece Moonlit Clouds + 2-piece Sierra Gale also works.
He has no signature weapon. The best option is Carlotta's signature weapon The Last Dance, followed closely by the standard 5★ Static Mist. On the 4★ side, Undying Flame, Relativistic Jet and Novaburst are good alternatives.
He falls behind as a Main DPS, but he does his job well as a Sub DPS, since a 23% Aero Amplify is a strong buff for a 4★. He is a valuable and accessible option for players who do not have premium Aero supports like Ciaccona.
Since his Outro amplifies Aero DMG, he gets the best results with Aero Main DPS characters such as Jiyan, Cartethyia and Qingxiao. You can round out the team with a support like Shorekeeper or Rover (Aero).
For Ascension, he needs Roaring Rock Fist, which drops from Feilian Beringal, the local specialty Wintry Bell and Howler Cores. For skills, he uses the Phlogiston series, Howler Cores and the weekly material Monument Bell, which drops from Bell-Borne Geochelone.
