GTA 3 cheats and cheat codes

In GTA 3 the cheat codes are typed straight on the keyboard while you play, with no console or menu to open. Health, armor, every weapon, 250,000 dollars per entry, the Rhino tank, flying cars and weather codes are all in this archive. Most codes also work in the Definitive Edition, and the ones that do not are marked on their cards. The codes below are sorted into categories, and each one copies with one click.

How do you open the cheat console?

Your choice is remembered

GTA 3 has no separate cheat console. While you are in the game, simply type the letters of the code on the keyboard in order. When the code is typed correctly, a confirmation message appears on screen.

Type the code directly
  1. Be in the game and type during normal gameplay.
  2. Type the letters of the code on the keyboard in order. No box opens and the letters do not show.
  3. If you typed it correctly, a confirmation message appears and the code works right away.

Because the letters do not show on screen, you only notice a typo when no confirmation appears; then type it again from the start.

GESUNDHEIT

This code refills your health. Try it first to check you are typing correctly; you should see a confirmation message on screen.

  • The codes are not case-sensitive.
  • Most codes turn off when typed again.
  • The pedestrian riot and pedestrians-attack-you codes cannot be undone. To get rid of them you need to load a save from before you entered the code.
  • Save before using cheats. In the Definitive Edition, achievements are disabled on a save where cheats were used.

Common questions

How do you enter GTA 3 cheat codes?
While in the game, type the letters of the code on the keyboard in order. No box opens and the letters do not show on screen. If the code is right, a confirmation message appears.
I typed a code but it did not work. Why?
Because the letters do not show on screen, you may have mistyped it; if no confirmation appeared, type it again from the start. Some codes, such as the invisible car code, are also missing from the Definitive Edition.
Is there a money cheat in GTA 3?
Yes. Type IFIWEREARICHMAN and 250,000 dollars are added to your account, and the same amount arrives again every time you type it.
Do cheats turn off achievements?
In the Definitive Edition, achievements are disabled on a save where you used cheats. If you are hunting achievements, make a separate save before entering any cheat.
Do these codes work in the Definitive Edition?
Most do. ANICESETOFWHEELS (invisible cars) is missing from the Definitive Edition, while EXPANDDOME (big heads) exists only there. Type the armor code as TORTOISE in the Definitive Edition. On console versions the codes are entered as button sequences; this page covers the codes typed on PC.
Which codes cannot be undone?
The pedestrian riot (ITSALLGOINGMAAAD) and pedestrians attacking you (NOBODYLIKESME) cannot be undone. To get rid of them you need to load a save from before you entered the code.
