Entering cheats in Vice City is as easy as it gets in the series. There is no console to open and no menu to visit; while playing, you type the code straight on the keyboard. When you type it correctly, a confirmation appears on screen and the code works instantly. The archive below sorts the codes into categories, and each one copies with a single click.
How do you open the cheat console?
Your choice is rememberedVice City has no separate cheat console. While in the game, driving or walking, just type the code's letters on the keyboard in order. It also works while you are in the pause menu.
Type the code directly
- Be in the game. Typing in the pause menu works too.
- Type the code's letters on the keyboard in order. No box opens, and the letters do not appear.
- If you typed it correctly, a confirmation message appears on screen and the code works right away.
Since the letters do not show on screen, you only know you made a typo when no confirmation appears. In that case, type it again from the start.

This code refills your health. Try it first to check you are typing correctly; you should see a confirmation message on screen.
- Codes are not case sensitive.
- Most codes are not stored in your save; they reset when you close and reopen the game. The pedestrian riot code and the code that turns pedestrians against you are the exception: If you save after entering them, they get written into your save.
- Some codes cannot be undone. Think carefully before saving, especially with codes that change pedestrian behavior.

Common questions
How do you enter GTA Vice City cheat codes?
There is no separate console or menu. While in the game, walking or driving, type the code's letters on the keyboard in order. The letters do not appear on screen; if you typed it correctly, a confirmation message appears.
I typed a code but it did not work. Why?
The most common reason is trying to type it on a loading screen. The code has to be typed during play or in the pause menu. The second reason is a typo; since the letters do not show, it is hard to notice, so type the code again from the start.
Do codes stay in my save?
For most codes, the effect lasts only for that session and resets when you close and reopen the game. However, if you save after entering the pedestrian riot code or the code that turns pedestrians against you, that effect gets written into your save, so be careful not to save in a session where you entered them.
Which codes cannot be undone?
The outfit codes and the codes that change pedestrian behavior cannot be undone in that session. To get back to normal, you need to close the game without saving and open it again. Be especially careful with the pedestrian riot code and the code that turns pedestrians against you: If you save after entering them, their effects get written into your save.
Do these codes work in the Definitive Edition?
Most of the codes work the same way in the remastered version. A few may behave differently because of version differences; if you find a code that does not work, let us know.
Is there a money cheat in Vice City?
There is no code that gives money directly. You earn money by finishing missions and collecting income from the businesses you buy. The weapon codes at least cut your ammo spending to zero.
