Wooly Attack
Performs a four-hit Fusion combo; pressing Basic Attack after the 4th hit continues with Wooly Strike. Her Heavy Attack, plunging attack and Dodge Counter also deal Fusion DMG, and hits fill her Forte gauge, Mayhem.
Wuthering Waves · 5★ Resonator
"Wooly-Counting Game" The mischievous little owner of Cloudy and Cosmos
Encore is a little girl affiliated with The Black Shores, with a boundless imagination and energy that never runs out; she fights alongside her two sheep friends, Cloudy and Cosmos. She is a standard 5★ Resonator who wields a Rectifier with the Fusion element. In her Resonance Liberation she hands control over to Cosmos: During Cosmos Rave her Basic Attacks turn into Cosmos - Frolicking and her Resonance Skill into Cosmos - Rampage. When her Mayhem gauge is full, her Heavy Attack puts her into a state that reduces the damage she takes by 70% and ends in a big explosion that counts as Resonance Liberation DMG. She is an easy-to-learn main DPS that suits beginners.
Encore is a standard 5★ Resonator and is not tied to a specific banner. She can come from the permanent Tidal Chorus banner (pulled with Lustrous Tide), from losing the 50/50 on limited character banners, and from the one-time Beginner's Choice Convene for new players (the 5★ you pick is guaranteed within 80 pulls). Tidal Chorus also guarantees a 5★ every 80 pulls, but you cannot choose which character you get.
2-piece: Fusion DMG + 10%.
5-piece: Fusion DMG + 30% for 15s after releasing Resonance Skill.
Grants 30% Fusion DMG for 15 s after using a Resonance Skill; thanks to Cosmos - Rampage, which is used often in Cosmos Rave, the bonus is almost always active.
2-piece: Energy Regen + {0}.
If you need Energy Regen, 2-piece Molten Rift + 2-piece Moonlit Clouds gets you Fusion DMG and Energy Regen together.
2-piece: ATK +10%
As a starting point, 2-piece Molten Rift + 2-piece Lingering Tunes gets you Fusion DMG and ATK together.
In the main slot it unconditionally gives 12% Fusion DMG and 12% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus; Inferno Rider, which raises Fusion and Basic Attack DMG after use, is also a strong alternative.
Use the 4-3-3-1-1 layout. Encore deals most of her damage in Cosmos Rave, so get enough Energy Regen to open the Liberation every rotation; if your substats fall short, pick Energy Regen instead of Fusion DMG on one of the 3-costs.
Yinlin's signature weapon and the best for Encore: 36% Crit. Rate, a 12% elemental DMG bonus and ATK that stacks with Resonance Skill DMG fit her Cosmos Rave combos perfectly.
Zhezhi's signature weapon; its 72% Crit. DMG main stat, 12% ATK and the Basic Attack DMG Bonus that stacks as you use Resonance Skills boost Cosmos - Frolicking damage.
The standard banner's 5★ Rectifier. Its 54% ATK main stat, Energy Regen and the Basic Attack DMG Bonus that stacks on Basic Attack hits suit Encore's Liberation loop very well.
A 4★ Rectifier that grants ATK for 15 s after using the Resonance Liberation; with its Crit. Rate main stat and a buff that lines up with the Cosmos Rave window, it is the best 4★ option.
A 4★ with a 51.84% Energy Regen main stat that refunds Concerto Energy on Resonance Skill; an easy-to-get option for those who want to open the Liberation more often.
Totals are calculated from game data: Every ascension stage from 1→90, skills 1→10 and every skill tree node.
Performs a four-hit Fusion combo; pressing Basic Attack after the 4th hit continues with Wooly Strike. Her Heavy Attack, plunging attack and Dodge Counter also deal Fusion DMG, and hits fill her Forte gauge, Mayhem.
Summons Cloudy and Cosmos to deal Fusion DMG to the target with scorching beams. Pressing Resonance Skill again afterward brings out Energetic Welcome; both grant Mayhem.
When Mayhem reaches 100, a Heavy Attack consumes the entire gauge and puts her into the Mayhem state, which reduces the damage she takes by 70%; when the state ends, Cloudy Frenzy explodes, counting as Resonance Liberation DMG. During Cosmos Rave the same action triggers Cosmos Rupture; swapping characters does not break this state.
Encore loses control and Cosmos breaks loose: Basic Attack turns into the four-hit Cosmos - Frolicking and Resonance Skill into Cosmos - Rampage, while her Heavy Attack and Dodge Counter are enhanced too. Most of Encore's damage comes in this window, and hits also fill Mayhem.
Encore charges at enemies together with Cosmos, dealing Fusion DMG and granting Mayhem. It gives her Forte gauge a quick start when opening the rotation.
Creates a Thermal Field with a 3 m radius around the target; enemies inside take Fusion DMG equal to 176.76% of Encore's ATK every 1.5 s for 6 s. Since the field is stationary, it is less effective against moving enemies.
During Cosmos Rave, Encore deals 10% more damage while her HP is above 70%. With a support that heals or gives shields, you can keep this bonus up at all times.
Using Flaming Woolies or Cosmos - Rampage grants 10% Fusion DMG Bonus for 10 s, which is why it matters to slot her Resonance Skill into the rotation regularly.
When the target's Off-Tune level is full, Encore can perform the Rectifier-specific Tune Break attack. A mechanic shared by all Resonators that opens an extra damage window on the staggered enemy.
S2 reduces her energy needs, while S3 and S5 are the Sequences that raise her damage the most; S6 adds a lasting ATK boost to Cosmos Rave. As a standard 5★, her Sequences can build up over time as you lose 50/50s on limited banners.
Basic Attack hits grant 3% Fusion DMG Bonus for 6 s (stacks 4 times, up to 12%).
Wooly Strike or Energetic Welcome grants an extra 10 Resonance Energy (once every 10 s), so you reach your Liberation faster.
The DMG multipliers of Cloudy Frenzy and Cosmos Rupture increase by 40%.
Cosmos Rupture raises the whole team's Fusion DMG Bonus by 20% for 30 s.
Resonance Skill DMG Bonus increases by 35%; Cosmos - Rampage hits much harder.
During Cosmos Rave she gains 1 Lost Lamb stack every time she deals damage; each stack grants 5% ATK for 10 s (stacks 5 times, up to 25%).
Lupa's Outro amplifies Fusion DMG by 20% and Basic Attack DMG by 25%, a perfect match for Cosmos - Frolicking; Brant gives a Fusion buff and heals the team.
Encore
Changli
Shorekeeper
Changli adds Fusion DMG as a second DPS, and her Outro amplifies Fusion and Resonance Liberation DMG; Shorekeeper heals the team and boosts crit stats.

Encore is a standard 5★: She can come from the permanent Tidal Chorus banner, from losing the 50/50 on limited banners, or from the Beginner's Choice Convene for new players. If you pick her in Beginner's Choice, she is guaranteed within 80 pulls.
5-piece Molten Rift is the best; the 30% Fusion DMG after a Resonance Skill stays up throughout Cosmos Rave. Use Nightmare: Inferno Rider as the main Echo; Inferno Rider is also a good alternative.
She has no signature weapon; the best option is Yinlin's signature weapon, Stringmaster. Rime-Draped Sprouts and the standard 5★ Cosmic Ripples are good alternatives, and Augment and Variation work on the 4★ side.
She is one of the easiest standard 5★ characters to play and still deals good damage in the right Fusion team. She is not as strong as the newest limited DPS characters, but she is a solid main DPS for beginners.
The Mono Fusion team with Lupa (Encore + Lupa + Brant) is the strongest option. A dual DPS lineup with Changli and Shorekeeper works well, and Sanhua and Baizhi are good early on.
To ascend her you need Rage Tacet Core from Inferno Rider, Pecok Flower and Whisperin Cores. Her skills use the Helix series, Whisperin Core and Unending Destruction, the weekly material dropped by Scar.
