Who is Lupa?

Lupa is a competitive but honorable gladiator who has never tasted defeat in the Septimont arena. She wields a Broadblade with the Fusion element; she builds Wolflame with her attacks, turns it into Wolfaith with Heavy Attacks, and at 2 Wolfaith performs Dance With the Wolf, which counts as Liberation DMG. For 35 s, her Resonance Liberation grants the whole team Pack Hunt, an ATK bonus, and Glory, which lets them ignore enemies' Fusion RES; these effects grow stronger the more Fusion characters are on the team. That makes her the most important sub DPS and support of Mono Fusion teams.

Lupa skills

Normal Attack

Flaming Star

Consists of a four-hit Fusion combo and a three-stage Mid-air Attack, with hits filling Wolflame. At 50 Wolflame her Heavy Attack first becomes Wolf's Gnawing, and with 1 Wolfaith it becomes Wolf's Claw; the 3rd stage of the Mid-air Attack becomes Firestrike, which counts as Heavy Attack DMG. Each of these attacks consumes 50 Wolflame and grants 1 Wolfaith.

Resonance Skill

Shewolf's Hunt

Throws the Wildfire Banner at the target to deal Fusion DMG, grants 15 Wolflame and marks the target for 8 s. Feral Fang, used shortly after, also grants 15 Wolflame and hits the marked target with a 50% higher multiplier.

Forte Circuit

Ignis Lupa

With 2 Wolfaith, her Resonance Skill turns into Dance With the Wolf (Climax while in Burning Matchpoint), which counts as Liberation DMG. If a teammate uses their Liberation within the next 8 s, off-field Lupa joins them with Set the Arena Ablaze; Feral Fang, Wolf's Gnawing, Wolf's Claw, Firestrike, the Liberation and Dance With the Wolf also grant 12% ATK for 8 s.

Resonance Liberation

Fire-Kissed Glory

Deals Fusion DMG, consumes all Wolfaith and grants 100 Wolflame; right after, Foebreaker enters Burning Matchpoint, where Normal Attacks fill 500% more Wolflame. For 35 s the whole team gains Pack Hunt: 6% ATK (up to 18% with Intros) and 10% Fusion DMG against Overlord or Calamity class enemies; the on-field character can also instantly recover from hits 3 times.

Intro Skill

Try Focusing, Eh?

Deals Fusion DMG on entry; pressing Normal Attack right away moves into the 3rd stage of the Mid-air Attack. When Pack Hunt reaches its top level, Lupa enters Wild Hunt and her next Intro turns into the powerful Nowhere to Run!, which counts as Liberation DMG; this hit ends the Pack Hunt and Glory effects on the team.

Outro Skill

Stand by Me, Warrior

The next character's Fusion DMG is Amplified by 20% and their Basic Attack DMG by 25%. The effect lasts 14 s or until the character is swapped out, which is why it matters to leave with Lupa's Outro before switching to a Fusion main DPS.

Inherent Skill

Remember My Name

After sprinting for 2.5 s she enters the Sprint state, and her next Basic Attack becomes Starfall. Her interruption resistance increases during Wolf's Gnawing, Wolf's Claw and Firestrike.

Inherent Skill

Applause of Victory

Killing a marked target resets the cooldown of Shewolf's Hunt. The Liberation's Glory effect lets the team ignore 3% of enemies' Fusion RES for 35 s; it grows with each additional Fusion character on the team and reaches 15% in total with three Fusion characters.

Tune Break

Tune Break: Broadblade

When the target's Off-Tune level is full, Lupa can perform the Broadblade-specific Tune Break attack. A shared mechanic that opens an extra damage window on the staggered enemy.

Lupa sequences (Resonance Chain)

She is fully functional in Mono Fusion teams at S0. If you go for Sequences, S2 is the most valuable stop because it gives the whole team up to 40% Fusion DMG Bonus; S3 brings Glory to full power even in teams without three Fusion characters.

  1. S1

    Behold the Nameless One

Fire-Kissed Glory grants 10 Concerto Energy and 20% Crit. Rate for 10 s; she becomes immune to interruption during Dance With the Wolf: Climax.

  2. S2

    Every Ground, Her Hunting Field

Fire-Kissed Glory, Wolf's Gnawing, Wolf's Claw or Firestrike give the whole team 20% Fusion DMG Bonus for 30 s (stacks 2 times); her most valuable Sequence as a support.

  3. S3

    Wolflame Howls in Her Wake

The multiplier of Nowhere to Run! increases by 100%; the extra Pack Hunt bonus from 3 Fusion characters no longer has a requirement, and Glory lets any team ignore 15% of enemies' Fusion RES.

  4. S4

High and Aflame Is Her Banner

The multiplier of Dance With the Wolf: Climax increases by 125%.

  5. S5

    Embrace the Thunderous Triumph

Try Focusing, Eh? or Nowhere to Run! grants 15% Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus for 10 s.

  6. S6

    To the Brightest Flaming Star

Climax, Fire-Kissed Glory and Nowhere to Run! ignore 30% of the target's DEF; Feral Fang restores 100 Wolflame once every 20 s, Dance With the Wolf is always Climax, and Nowhere to Run! no longer ends Pack Hunt and Glory.

Lupa tips

  • Raise Wolfaith to 2 with Wolf's Gnawing, Wolf's Claw and Firestrike, then use Dance With the Wolf; if Wolfaith is not spent within 10 s, each stack turns back into 50 Wolflame.
  • Enter Burning Matchpoint with Foebreaker right after the Liberation: Normal Attacks fill 500% more Wolflame, so you reach Climax very quickly.
  • Use every character's Intro while Pack Hunt is active; each Intro gives the team an extra 6% ATK (up to 18%). Until S6, Nowhere to Run! ends Pack Hunt and Glory on the team, so use this hit as the buffs are running out.
  • Swap to your main DPS within 8 s after Dance With the Wolf: When the main DPS uses their Liberation, Lupa deals extra damage off-field with Set the Arena Ablaze.
  • For the strongest result, build the team with three Fusion characters; Glory's Fusion RES ignore rises to 15%, and Pack Hunt's Fusion bonus against Overlord and Calamity class enemies to 20%.

Common questions

How do you get Lupa?

Lupa is a limited 5★ Resonator and can only be pulled with Radiant Tide while her banner is active. She first arrived in Version 2.4 with the "Roar of Triumph" banner and got reruns in the first phases of 2.7 and 3.1.

What is the best Echo set for Lupa?

5-piece Flaming Clawprint; it raises the whole team's Fusion DMG by 15% after the Liberation. Use Lioness of Glory as the main Echo; it gives both Fusion and Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus.

What is Lupa's best weapon?

Her signature weapon, Wildfire Mark, is the best; it raises Liberation DMG and gives the whole team 24% Fusion DMG Bonus. Kumokiri, Ages of Harvest and Verdant Summit are alternatives, and Autumntrace works as a 4★ option.

Is Lupa only useful in Fusion teams?

Her greatest value is in Mono Fusion teams, because Glory and Pack Hunt grow stronger the more Fusion characters are on the team. Still, Pack Hunt's ATK bonus and the instant recovery from hits it gives the on-field character are useful in any team, and S3 removes the Fusion requirement.

What team should you build for Lupa?

The strongest option is the Mono Fusion team of Changli + Brant + Lupa. You can build a new Fusion lineup with Jingran and Mornye, or a team with a healer with Brant and Shorekeeper.

What materials does Lupa use?

To ascend her you need Unfading Glory from Lioness of Glory, the regional material Bloodleaf Viburnum and Howler Cores. Her skills use the Waveworn Residue series, Howler Core and The Netherworld's Stare, the weekly material dropped by Hecate; the full list with quantities is in the materials section.
