🐷 Minecraft mob commands
From summoning zombies to striking lightning: Every command that acts on mobs and entities, with examples.
The power of entity commands comes from target selectors. You can select not just one mob but every entity that matches a condition: By type, by distance, by tag. That is why you need to be more careful with the kill command than with the summon command.
The summon command accepts extra data inside curly braces. A baby zombie, an armor stand with a visible name or a skeleton carrying specific gear are all set up with this extra data. The format can change between versions, so Tab completion is the safest bet.
The command that clears dropped items is the most practical fix for server lag. Broad selectors left on their own can include players as well, so do not run it without narrowing the selector.

Common questions
How do I clear items on the ground?
/kill @e[type=item] deletes every dropped item in the loaded area. It is one of the first things to check when a server lags, but deleted items do not come back.
How do I remove everything except players?
Type /kill @e[type=!player] and players are spared while every other entity dies. Typing just @e kills players too.
