💬 Minecraft basic commands
Every chat, help and info command, with examples you can copy: All of them except the /say broadcast command work even with cheats off.
Most commands in this group need no permissions, so you can use them on a server even if you are not an operator. Just open the chat and type; the game also completes the options for you with the Tab key as you type.
The most useful ones in everyday play are private messages and the player list. Private messages have three spellings and all three do the same thing, so use whichever one you remember. Keep in mind that they end up in the server logs: A private message is not hidden from the admin.
If you want to roleplay or make an announcement in chat, there are two separate ways: The command that writes an action line in your own name needs no permissions, while the one that broadcasts to everyone requires operator permissions.

What do these commands need?
Common questions
Do I need to turn on cheats for these commands?
Mostly no. Most commands in this group have permission level zero, so they work with cheats off and without any permissions on a server; /say, which broadcasts to everyone, needs cheats or operator permissions. The seed command works in a singleplayer world even with cheats off, but on a server it needs permissions.
How do I see the full syntax of a command?
Type /help in chat followed by the command name and the game prints every way that command can be used. The Tab key also suggests the options one by one as you type.
