Minecraft /summon command
Creates any mob, item or special entity you want at the given coordinates.
Syntax
/summon <entity>
/summon <entity> <pos>
/summon <entity> <pos> <nbt>
Parts in square brackets are optional, parts in angle brackets are required. You do not type the brackets: Put your own value in their place.
Arguments
| Argument | What it does |
|---|---|
| <entity> | Entity ID: zombie, villager, armor_stand, lightning_bolt and so on. |
| <nbt> | Extra data in curly braces: Name, equipment, behavior. |
Examples
/summon lightning_bolt ~ ~ ~
Strikes lightning where you stand.
/summon villager ~ ~ ~
Summons a villager next to you.
/summon armor_stand ~ ~ ~ {CustomName:"Guard",CustomNameVisible:1b}
Sets up an armor stand with a visible name.
/summon zombie ~ ~ ~ {IsBaby:1b}
Summons a baby zombie.
Good to know
- If you misspell the entity ID, the command does not run at all, so trust the completion list.
- The NBT format can change between versions; after 1.20.5, item fields use the component syntax.
