Who is Rover (Electro)?

Rover is the mysterious wanderer who can absorb all sounds and the protagonist of Wuthering Waves; the Electro form is the fourth resonance, unlocked in the main story of version 3.5. Wielding a Sword, this form builds Electric Surge through Basic Attacks, counterattacks from Parry Stance and Thunderclap, and once the gauge is full, the Resonance Skill turns into Overshock. A tap of Overshock gives the team 10% ATK, while holding it opens Apex Resonance, which links Spectro, Havoc and Aero attacks into a single chain. Its real value lies in the Outro: When the next character applies a negative effect, they gain 25% All DMG Amplification for 14 s.

Rover (Electro) skills

Normal Attack

Deterrence

Performs a four-hit Electro combo; holding Basic Attack consumes Stamina to enter Parry Stance, during which Rover is immune to interruption and takes 60% less damage. Releasing the button triggers Riposte Strike; if you block an attack during it, you briefly halt the enemy and go into Riposte Strike: Crumble, followed by the three-stage Mid-air Attack - Havoc chain that deals Havoc damage.

Resonance Skill

Thunderclap

Throws Cloudrift Bolt and dashes toward the target, dealing Electro damage. Pressing Basic Attack right after triggers Repel, which counts as Basic Attack damage; both fill Electric Surge.

Forte Circuit

Myriad Omens' Mandate

When Electric Surge reaches 120, the Resonance Skill turns into Overshock. A tap consumes the gauge and gives the team 10% ATK for 20 s; holding it spends 60 Concerto Energy to enter Apex Resonance and chain Spectro, Havoc and Aero attacks with Thrum of All Sounds, which consumes 10% Thunder Rage per second. Every hit of these attacks triggers Electro Thunder Bane, which counts as Resonance Skill damage.

Resonance Liberation

Ultimate Tactics

Unleashes Thunder Quietus to bring down a massive Electro strike on the target. In the sub DPS rotation, it is used as the last damage window before switching out with the Outro.

Intro Skill

Thunderous Fury

Deals Electro damage to the target on entry and fills Electric Surge. It is the rotation opener that shortens the road to Overshock.

Outro Skill

Rumbling Thunders

The next character gains Electro Core for 20 s (or until they leave the field); when this character applies a negative effect, Electro Core is consumed and they gain 25% All DMG Amplification for 14 s, which ends when you switch characters. Using the Outro also ends Apex Resonance and resets Thunder Rage.

Inherent Skill

Decipher

The Resonance Skill Overshock applies 10 stacks of Electro Flare to the targets it hits. This way, Rover also stacks Electro Flare on its own in teams built around negative effects.

Inherent Skill

Regression

If Overshock is used with a hold, Rover gains 20% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus for 20 s; the effect ends when you switch characters. In the main DPS build, it directly increases Apex Resonance damage.

Tune Break

Tune Break - Sword

When the target's Off-Tune level is full, Rover can perform the Sword-specific Tune Break attack. It is a mechanic shared by all Resonators that opens an extra damage window on the staggered enemy.

Rover (Electro) sequences (Resonance Chain)

Most Sequences are damage multiplier increases; as a sub DPS, the Outro buff works in full even at S0. If you use Rover as a main DPS, S5 and S6 are the Sequences that boost Apex Resonance damage the most.

  1. S1

    Celestial Ingenuity

Interruption resistance increases for 0.5 s during Normal Attacks and Thrum of All Sounds.

  2. S2

    Thousandfold Artifice

After the Resonance Liberation Ultimate Tactics deals damage, it applies 5 stacks of Electro Flare to the targets hit.

  3. S3

    Alchemy of Wonders

Overshock's DMG multiplier increases by 20%.

  4. S4

    Earthquaking Rumble

The DMG multiplier of the Resonance Liberation Ultimate Tactics increases by 20%.

  5. S5

    Principle of Change

Crit. DMG increases by 20% while in Apex Resonance.

  6. S6

    Mind's Depths in a Casket

The DMG multipliers of Thrum of All Sounds and Thunder Bane increase by 20%; the biggest gain for the main DPS build.

Rover (Electro) team comps

Havoc Bane team

When Yangyang (Xuanling) applies Havoc Bane, she gains 25% All DMG Amplification from Rover's Outro; Chisa heals the team and, with her Outro, raises the cap on negative effects the target can carry. The strongest team for Rover (Electro).

Glacio Chafe team

Hiyuki applies Glacio Chafe on her own, so she triggers Rover's Outro buff easily; Chisa provides healing and negative effect support.

Fusion Burst team

Aemeath benefits from Rover's 25% All DMG Amplification buff while applying Fusion Burst; Chisa keeps the team alive.

Rover (Electro) tips

  • As a sub DPS, tap Overshock: You give the team 10% ATK for 20 s, and since no Concerto Energy is spent, your Outro stays ready.
  • Build the rotation by filling Electric Surge to 120 with the Intro, Thunderclap + Repel and Basic Attacks; then exit with Overshock, Liberation and Echo Skill.
  • The Outro buff only activates when the next character applies a negative effect (Havoc Bane, Glacio Chafe, Fusion Burst, Electro Flare and so on), so pair Rover with DPS units that can do this on their own.
  • Against dangerous attacks, hold Basic Attack to enter Parry Stance: You take 60% less damage, and with the right timing, you halt the enemy with Riposte Strike: Crumble.
  • Use Impermanence Heron right before the Outro: You gain 10 Resonance Energy, and the next character deals an extra 12% damage.
  • The level is shared across all Rover forms; when switching to Electro, you only need to upgrade its skills, weapon and Echoes separately.

Common questions

How do you unlock Rover (Electro)?

It is free: Completing the main quest "Xuanling Sings, Storm Quelled" (Chapter 4, Act 2), added in version 3.5, unlocks the Electro resonance. After that, you can switch between forms from the Resonator menu.

What is the best Echo set for Rover (Electro)?

As a sub DPS, 5-piece Moonlit Clouds with Impermanence Heron as the main Echo is the best; both give the next character an extra buff after the Outro. If you play Rover as a main DPS, use 5-piece Void Thunder and Nightmare: Thundering Mephis.

What is the best weapon for Rover (Electro)?

There is no signature weapon; the best option is Changli's signature weapon Blazing Brilliance. Emerald of Genesis from the standard banner, and Somnoire Anchor, Fables of Wisdom and Commando of Conviction on the 4★ side, are good alternatives.

Is Rover (Electro) good?

For a free character it is useful, but it is not top tier. Its real strength lies in its Outro, which gives DPS units that apply negative effects 25% All DMG Amplification; it makes a good sub DPS in these teams, but as a main DPS it falls behind the limited characters.

Which team should Rover (Electro) play in?

The best team is Yangyang (Xuanling) + Rover (Electro) + Chisa. It works the same way with DPS units that apply negative effects on their own, such as Hiyuki or Aemeath.

What materials does Rover (Electro) use?

For Ascension it needs Mysterious Code, Pecok Flower and Whisperin Cores. Its skills use Whisperin Cores, the Sword-specific Wing Polarizer series and the weekly material We Who Question from Denia.
