Who is Lucilla?

Lucilla is the rector of Startorch Academy, an idealist with big dreams and both feet on the ground who quietly looks out for her students from the background as they chase their sky-high goals. According to the records, her Forte awakened through a camera she received as a birthday present when she was a child; she can turn memories into images and briefly reconstruct them. She wields a Rectifier with the Glacio element. Through Focus Ring timing she builds Trace and Photos, and with 3 Photos she enters her Liberation without spending any energy. She has two Resonance Modes: In Glacio Chafe mode she boosts the team's Glacio Chafe damage, and in Echo mode she supports Echo Skill damage.

Lucilla skills

Normal Attack

Snapshot

If you hold the button on the final hit of her three-hit Glacio combo, the Focus Ring opens and a cursor spins around it. Release while the cursor is in the Perfect Focus zone for the stronger Commendable hit and more Trace; outside it, you only get Unremarkable. If the ring fills up completely, Commendable triggers automatically.

Resonance Skill

Phantom Frame

Pulls nearby enemies in and deals Glacio damage; holding it also opens the Focus Ring. Releasing while the cursor is in Perfect Focus triggers Spotlight: More damage and Trace, 20 Concerto Energy and, in Glacio Chafe mode, 1 extra Glacio Chafe stack. If you miss, you get Compensate instead and the skill's cooldown is reduced by 8 s.

Forte Circuit

Memory Palace

Focus Ring hits and the Intro fill up to 150 Trace; every 50 Trace turns into one Photo (up to 3). In Glacio Chafe mode, the Liberation grants Film Roll, which adds 2 extra stacks to each Glacio Chafe application by teammates; in Echo mode, it grants Zoom stacks that increase the active character's Echo Skill Crit. DMG. In the 3rd stage of Tracing Forms, each Photo becomes an Oblivion hit that counts as Basic Attack or Echo Skill damage depending on the mode.

Resonance Liberation

Clear As Day

Does not use Resonance Energy; it becomes available at 3 Photos. It deals Glacio damage, puts Lucilla into Reminiscence and grants 30% Basic Attack or Echo Skill DMG Bonus for 10 s depending on the mode. During this state, her Basic Attack turns into Tracing Forms; releasing the 3rd stage triggers Letting It Go, during which she takes no damage, which grants 20 Concerto Energy and ends Reminiscence.

Intro Skill

Clip It

Deals Glacio damage on entry, applies 1 Glacio Chafe stack and grants 100 Trace, which sets up two Photos in one move. During Reminiscence it turns into Clip It: Hard Cut and links directly into the 3rd stage of Tracing Forms.

Outro Skill

Montage

In Glacio Chafe mode, Glacio Chafe damage dealt to targets around the active character is amplified by 60% for 30 s. In Echo mode, the next character gains 50% Echo Skill DMG Amplification for 14 s; the effect ends if Lucilla switches modes.

Inherent Skill

Slow Motion

Enemies in frame are slowed while the Focus Ring is open. In Glacio Chafe mode, Spotlight lowers the Glacio RES of targets around the active character by 8% for 30 s; in Echo mode, it grants the whole team 25% Echo Skill DMG Bonus for 30 s.

Inherent Skill

Remembrance

The Film Roll cap rises to 10 and the Zoom cap to 4. Each Photo she spends grants 2 more Film Roll stacks in Glacio Chafe mode or 1 more Zoom stack in Echo mode; at 4 Zoom stacks, the active character's Echo Skill Crit. DMG bonus reaches 40%.

Tune Break

Tune Break: Rectifier

She can perform the Rectifier-specific Tune Break attack on a target whose Off-Tune level is full. It has no extra effect specific to Lucilla; it is the shared mechanic that opens an extra damage window on the staggered enemy.

Lucilla sequences (Resonance Chain)

At S0 she does her job in both modes. For team support, the most valuable stop is S2; S3 and S6 boost Letting It Go and turn Lucilla into a character who deals serious damage on her own.

  1. S1

    Distant Noon

The first Perfect Focus hit in Phantom Frame fills the ring completely, which makes Spotlight very easy to land; Spotlight grants 20% Crit. Rate for 10 s, and Phantom Frame and the 3rd stage of Tracing Forms become immune to interruption.

  2. S2

    Slumbering Moonlight

After the Liberation, Glacio Chafe damage is amplified by another 80% in Glacio Chafe mode, and in Echo mode the whole team gains 40% Echo Skill DMG Bonus; the effect lasts throughout Reminiscence and for 30 s after it ends.

  3. S3

    Days Fade Unheard

Letting It Go's multiplier increases by 100%.

  4. S4

    The Past Fades Into Silence

Oblivion pulls enemies in and grants 10% ATK for 6 s on each use (stacks 3 times); she takes 30% less damage during the 3rd stage of Tracing Forms.

  5. S5

    Time is Like a Stream

    Oblivion's multiplier increases by 50%.

  6. S6

Gazing In the Mist of Time

Each Photo spent during Reminiscence grants one Remembrance stack; each stack increases Letting It Go's damage by 200% (up to 600%). If you defeat an enemy during Reminiscence, you regain 150 Trace out of combat.

Lucilla team comps

Glacio Chafe team

Lucilla's Outro amplifies Glacio Chafe damage by 60%, and her Film Roll stacks add 2 extra stacks to each of Hiyuki's applications; Suisui completes the team with field buffs and healing.

Echo Skill team

In Echo mode, Lucilla's Outro gives Sigrika 50% Echo Skill DMG Amplification, and her Zoom stacks grant Echo Skill Crit. DMG; Shorekeeper provides healing and a crit bonus.

Glacio Chafe without Suisui

Lucilla tips

  • Enter the rotation with the Intro: 100 Trace fills two Photos instantly, and a single Spotlight or Commendable is enough for the third.
  • Try to release the Focus Ring cursor in the Perfect Focus zone; Spotlight brings 20 Concerto Energy plus, depending on the mode, an 8% Glacio RES reduction or 25% Echo Skill DMG Bonus for the team.
  • Her Liberation does not spend Resonance Energy, so do not invest in Energy Regen at all; put your substats into crit and ATK.
  • In Glacio Chafe mode, use the Liberation right before the main DPS starts applying Glacio Chafe; each Film Roll stack adds 2 extra stacks to your teammate's applications.
  • In Echo mode, hand the Outro over to an Echo Skill-heavy main DPS; the 50% Echo Skill DMG Amplification and the Crit. DMG bonus from Zoom go straight to them.
  • In the open world, press the Aim button to switch to the Quick Glance camera mode: It marks the collectibles and Reverberations in the frame and gathers them in a single shot.

Common questions

How do you get Lucilla?

Lucilla is a limited 5★ Resonator. She arrived in version 3.4 with the "Tomorrow in the Frame" banner, which ran from June 13 to July 9, 2026, and can only be pulled with Radiant Tides while her banner is active; as of 3.6 she has not had a rerun yet.

What is the best Echo set for Lucilla?

In Glacio Chafe mode, 5-piece Wishes of Quiet Snowfall with Glommoth as the main Echo is the best choice. If you play in Echo mode, switch to 5-piece Moonlit Clouds and Impermanence Heron.

What is Lucilla's best weapon?

Her signature weapon Freeze Frame is by far the best; applying Glacio Chafe gives her Glacio DMG and the whole team 24% ATK. Alternatives include Whispers of Sirens and Stringmaster, Lethean Elegy for Echo mode, and Radiant Dawn and Waltz in Masquerade on the 4★ side.

Is Lucilla good, and which mode should you play?

Yes; she is a flexible sub DPS/support who needs no energy at all and has a short, easy rotation. If your team has a main DPS who applies Glacio Chafe, such as Hiyuki, choose Glacio Chafe mode; if you have a DPS who relies on Echo Skills, such as Sigrika, choose Echo mode.

Which team should you build for Lucilla?

For Glacio Chafe, the strongest team is Hiyuki + Lucilla + Suisui; if you do not have Suisui, Chisa also does the job. In Echo mode, Sigrika + Lucilla + Shorekeeper works well.

What materials does Lucilla use?

For Ascension she needs Suncoveter's Reach from Starward Handmaiden: Hyvatia, Forget-Me-Not and Mech Cores. Her skills use the String series (from Spliced to Melodic String), Mech Cores and We Who Question from the weekly boss Denia.
