Dimming Brush
Consists of a three-hit Glacio combo, a Heavy Attack that does not reset the Basic Attack loop, two mid-air hits and a Dodge Counter. Basic Attack hits fill Afflatus, Zhezhi's Forte resource.
Wuthering Waves · 5★ Resonator
"Enchanted Brush" The quiet painter who brings her drawings to life
Zhezhi is a painter in Jinzhou who paints on commission; she speaks little but is passionately devoted to her work, and the drawings from her brush come to life through her resonance power and join the fight. She is a Glacio Resonator who wields a Rectifier. She spends Afflatus to draw Phantasmic Imprints and teleports to them to perform Ivory Herald attacks, while her Liberation summons Inklit Spirits that perform Coordinated Attacks for 30 s as the Main DPS deals damage. Her Outro amplifies Glacio and Resonance Skill damage, so she is a strong Sub DPS alongside characters like Jinhsi and Carlotta.
Zhezhi is a limited 5★ Resonator and does not drop from the standard banner; she can only be pulled with Radiant Tide while her banner is active. She first arrived in version 1.2 with the "Chromatic Prose" banner that opened on August 15, 2024, and appeared again in the 2.3 anniversary reruns and the selector banner in 3.5. A 5★ is guaranteed within 80 pulls; your first 5★ has a 50% chance to be the featured character, and if you lose that, your next 5★ is guaranteed to be the featured one.
2-piece: Energy Regen + {0}
5-piece: Increase the Resonator's Coordinated Attack DMG by {0}. Upon a critical hit of Coordinated Attack, increase the active Resonator's ATK by {1} for {2}s.
The Inklit Spirits summoned by her Liberation are Coordinated Attacks, so the 80% Coordinated Attack bonus boosts Zhezhi's damage after she leaves the field; their critical hits also give the on-field character 20% ATK.
2-piece: Energy Regen + {0}.
5-piece: Upon using Outro Skill, increases the ATK of the next Resonator by 22.5% for 15s.
If your Empyrean Anthem Echoes are not ready, or if you want a pure support, use it with Impermanence Heron for the Energy Regen from the 2-piece and the 22.5% ATK buff after the Outro.
In the main slot, it gives 12% Glacio DMG and increases Coordinated Attack damage by 30%; a direct match for her Inklit Spirits.
Use the 4-3-3-1-1 layout. If you cannot use Living Canvas every rotation, pick one of the 3-cost Echoes with the Energy Regen main stat. Inklit Spirit and Ivory Herald damage counts as Basic Attack damage, so Basic Attack DMG Bonus is a valuable substat.
Her signature weapon. It gives a 72% Crit. DMG main stat and 12% ATK. By spending the stacks built with Resonance Skills on her Outro, it grants a 52% Basic Attack DMG Bonus for 27 s after she leaves the field, which directly strengthens her Inklit Spirits.
Yinlin's signature weapon; a strong alternative with a 36% Crit. Rate main stat, a 12% Attribute DMG Bonus and extra ATK while off the field.
Offers 72% Crit. DMG and 12% ATK. The Basic Attack DMG Bonus gained with Echo Skills strengthens the Ivory Herald attacks you perform while on the field, but it ends when you switch characters.
The standard banner's 5★ Rectifier; an accessible option with a 54% ATK main stat, an Energy Regen passive and Basic Attack DMG Bonus stacks.
One of the best 4★ options, with a 40.5% Crit. DMG main stat plus ATK and Basic Attack DMG Bonus for 10 s after a Resonance Skill.
4★ with an Energy Regen main stat; it grants Concerto Energy with Resonance Skills, which speeds up her Liberation and Outro loop.
Totals are calculated from game data: Every ascension stage from 1→90, skills 1→10 and every skill tree node.
Consists of a three-hit Glacio combo, a Heavy Attack that does not reset the Basic Attack loop, two mid-air hits and a Dodge Counter. Basic Attack hits fill Afflatus, Zhezhi's Forte resource.
Deals Glacio DMG; if Afflatus is at 60 or higher, it spends 60 points to summon the left and right Phantasmic Imprints. If you tap it on the ground, the imprints are placed on the ground, and if you hold it or use it in mid-air, they are placed in the air.
While Phantasmic Imprints are nearby, her Resonance Skill turns into Stroke of Genius, which teleports Zhezhi to an imprint and performs an Ivory Herald attack that counts as Basic Attack damage, and grants a Painter's Delight stack. Creation's Zenith, which comes with 2 stacks, hits harder and grants an 18% Basic Attack DMG Bonus for 27 s. The middle imprint is summoned with the Heavy Attack Conjuration, which spends 30 Afflatus.
For 30 s, an Inklit Spirit is summoned once per second as the on-field character deals damage and deals Glacio DMG with a Coordinated Attack (it counts as Basic Attack damage, up to 21 in total). It is her main Sub DPS damage source, producing damage next to the Main DPS even after Zhezhi leaves the field.
Deals Glacio DMG to the target as she enters the field and grants Afflatus, letting you reach the first Phantasmic Imprints quickly.
The next character's Glacio DMG is amplified by 20% and Resonance Skill DMG by 25% (for 14 s or until they leave the field). That is why she works so well with Resonance Skill-heavy Main DPS characters like Jinhsi and Carlotta.
Each time Stroke of Genius or Creation's Zenith is used, Zhezhi's ATK increases by 6% for 27 s, stacking 3 times. Its long duration means it also contributes to Inklit Spirit damage after she leaves the field.
After her Outro Skill is used, it grants the incoming character 15 Resonance Energy. A handy passive that eases the energy needs of Main DPS characters with expensive Liberations.
When the target's Off-Tune level is full, Zhezhi can perform the Rectifier-specific Tune Break attack; it is a shared mechanic that opens an extra damage window on the staggered enemy.
At S0, she comfortably does her Sub DPS job, so you may want to consider her signature weapon Rime-Draped Sprouts first. If you go for Sequences, S2 raises her Liberation damage and S4 raises the whole team's ATK, which makes them the most efficient stops; S6 takes her personal damage to its peak.
Creation's Zenith grants 15 Resonance Energy and increases Crit. Rate by 10% for 27 s.
The number of Inklit Spirits Living Canvas can summon increases by 6, noticeably raising the Liberation's total damage.
Each time Manifestation, Stroke of Genius or Creation's Zenith is used, ATK increases by 15% for 27 s (stacks 3 times).
Using Living Canvas increases the ATK of all Resonators on the team by 20% for 30 s.
Every 3 Inklit Spirits, an extra spirit is summoned that hits for 140% of normal Inklit Spirit damage.
Stroke of Genius and Creation's Zenith summon an extra Ivory Herald that hits for 120% of Stroke of Genius damage.
Jinhsi
Zhezhi
Shorekeeper
Inklit Spirits are Coordinated Attacks, so they fill Jinhsi's Incandescence quickly, and the 25% Resonance Skill amplification in her Outro lines up with Illuminous Epiphany; Shorekeeper heals and raises crit stats.
Carlotta
Zhezhi
Shorekeeper
Carlotta is both Glacio and Resonance Skill-heavy, so she gets full value from both bonuses in Zhezhi's Outro.

Zhezhi is a limited 5★ Resonator and can only be pulled with Radiant Tide while her banner is active. She first arrived in version 1.2 with the "Chromatic Prose" banner, then appeared again in the 2.3 anniversary reruns and the 3.5 selector banner.
5-piece Empyrean Anthem with Nightmare: Lampylumen Myriad as the main Echo is the best; both boost the Coordinated Attack damage of her Inklit Spirits. For a more support-focused setup, you can use 5-piece Moonlit Clouds with Impermanence Heron.
Her signature weapon Rime-Draped Sprouts is the best; it gives a big Basic Attack DMG Bonus while she is off the field after her Outro. As alternatives, you can use Stringmaster and Cosmic Ripples, and on the 4★ side Radiant Dawn and Variation.
She is a strong Sub DPS for Resonance Skill-heavy Main DPS characters, and her spot is secure especially in Jinhsi and Carlotta teams. However, her Outro does not suit every team, so in 3.6 she falls behind universal Sub DPS characters.
The best-known lineup is Jinhsi + Zhezhi + Shorekeeper; her Inklit Spirits fill Jinhsi's Incandescence. A Glacio team with Carlotta and an accessible lineup with the standard 5★ Lingyang are also good alternatives.
For Ascension, she needs Sound-Keeping Tacet Core, which drops from Lampylumen Myriad, Lanternberry and Howler Cores. For skills, she uses the Helix series, Howler Cores and the weekly material Monument Bell, which drops from Bell-Borne Geochelone; the full list with quantities is in the materials section.
