Minecraft /time command
Sets day, night or any tick value you want; it can also fast-forward time.
Syntax
/time set <time>
/time add <time>
/time pause
/time resume
/time rate <rate>
/time query gametime
/time query day [repetition]
Parts in square brackets are optional, parts in angle brackets are required. You do not type the brackets: Put your own value in their place.
Arguments
| Argument | What it does |
|---|---|
| set | day (1000), noon (6000), night (13000), midnight (18000) or a tick count directly. |
| add | Adds ticks to the current time. |
| pause / resume | Stops time and resumes it from where it left off (added in 26.1). |
| rate | Changes how fast time passes. |
| query | gametime gives the total time, day gives the time of day, and day repetition tells you which day it is. |
Examples
/time set day
Brings the morning; hostile mobs start burning.
/time set night
Brings the night.
/time add 1000
Moves time forward by about an hour.
/time pause
Stops time where it is; /time resume continues it.
/time query day repetition
Shows which day it is in the world.
Good to know
- A Minecraft day is 24000 ticks, or 20 minutes.
- To freeze time permanently, use /gamerule advance_time false (formerly doDaylightCycle).
- In 26.1, time was tied to world clocks: /time query day now gives the time of day instead of the day count; add repetition to get the day count.
