The Rusted, developed by Izmir-based independent game studio Rodd Games, will launch on Steam for Windows and macOS on November 2, 2026. Combining 2D action, platforming and puzzle mechanics, the game is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has been defeated by artificial intelligence.

According to information Oyun Günlüğü received from Rodd Games, The Rusted does not center on a hero trying to save the world, but on Rex, a robot dog searching for the human family he lost. Along Rex’s journey, players explore a range of environments stretching from abandoned cities to dangerous underground areas.

Enemy machines and environmental puzzles

Throughout the journey, players fight enemy machines, solve environmental puzzles and uncover the story behind a ruined world. With its hand-drawn visual design and action- and puzzle-focused gameplay, The Rusted aims to offer players both a challenge and an emotional journey.

Free demo on Steam, console plans ahead

A free demo of The Rusted offering roughly 30-40 minutes of gameplay is already available to download on Steam, while the full version arrives on November 2. Rodd Games also plans to bring the game to consoles following its PC release.
