Minecraft /weather command
Switches between clear weather, rain and thunderstorms.
Syntax
/weather clear [<duration>]
/weather rain [<duration>]
/weather thunder [<duration>]
Parts in square brackets are optional, parts in angle brackets are required. You do not type the brackets: Put your own value in their place.
Arguments
| Argument | What it does |
|---|---|
| clear / rain / thunder | Clear, rainy or thundering weather. |
| [<duration>] | In ticks; you can also add a suffix, as in 600s, with s (seconds) or d (in-game days). Leave it out and the game picks a random duration. |
Examples
/weather clear
Stops the rain.
/weather thunder 600s
Makes a 10-minute thunderstorm, and lightning may strike. Type 600 without the suffix and it lasts 30 seconds.
Good to know
- To turn weather off entirely, use /gamerule advance_weather false (formerly doWeatherCycle).
- In cold biomes, snow takes the place of rain.
