Relic Entertainment has launched the Company of Heroes 3: 3.0 20th Anniversary update on PC via Steam. The biggest update to Company of Heroes 3 since launch, 3.0 brings major improvements to nearly every aspect of the game, from visuals and audio to artificial intelligence, gameplay, maps and the campaign.
According to information Oyun Günlüğü obtained from Relic Entertainment, the update also delivers major additions to Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand, the studio’s standalone roguelike, including 3-player co-op and a brand-new Battleground.
Snow, rain and new environments
The 3.0 update adds new snow and rain weather effects, dynamic terrain wetness, enhanced atmospheric effects and improved soldier lighting to the battlefield. Animations have also been improved, and new industrial, winter and autumn environments join the game.
On the audio side, weapon firing, impact, explosion and vehicle destruction sounds have been reworked. The music selection has also been expanded with classic tracks from Company of Heroes and Company of Heroes 2.
Smarter AI and a refreshed Italian campaign
The update also includes artificial intelligence, gameplay and balance changes designed to encourage a broader range of strategies. The AI’s late-game performance and retreat behavior have been improved. The Italian dynamic campaign received its own improvement pass, featuring progression fixes, better map clarity and readability, refreshed visuals and quality-of-life updates.
Five new multiplayer maps
The multiplayer map pool grows with five new maps: Ancona Railyard, Vire River Valley, Foggia Airfield, Turin Steelworks and Radarstation Mammut. Every existing multiplayer map has also been improved, with Langres Winter, Mignano Summit and Rapido River Crossing receiving significant updates.
Four new premium cosmetic sets are also available alongside the update: Climb to Glory for US Forces, Edelweiss for Wehrmacht, Bloody Baltic for British Forces and Cold Snap for Deutsches Afrikakorps.
Final Stand gets 3-player co-op
Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand benefits from all of the visual and audio improvements in the 3.0 update. Up to three players can now team up in co-op. The new Battleground, Dam Busters, introduces weather conditions that affect battlefield visibility and unit range. Final Stand also receives new enemy units, abilities and passive technologies, along with a range of gameplay fixes and balance updates.
The series celebrates its 20th anniversary
The 3.0 update arrives during the 20th anniversary of Company of Heroes. Relic says players can expect continued support, updates and new content across the franchise, including the recently announced Company of Heroes: Definitive Edition.
