Cities: Skylines II: Money cheat

Unlimited money is the most searched-for option in the game. When it is on, your budget never goes down, debt and loans stop being a worry and you can build your city purely as a design project. But it comes with two important conditions. First, it stops you from earning achievements, and second, once you turn it on, it cannot be turned off again on that save. If you see managing the economy as the real challenge of the game, starting a separate save is the better choice.

Most codes here need cheats turned on first. See the section on how to open the console.

Money cheat: Common questions

How do I turn on unlimited money in Cities: Skylines 2?
When starting a new game, pick a map and go to the map settings screen, then tick the unlimited money box there. You do not need to download anything, as the option comes with the game.
Can I turn unlimited money off later?
No. If you turned on unlimited money on a save, it is permanent for that save. If you want to go back to a normal economy, you need to build a new city.
Does it stop me from earning achievements?
Yes. You cannot earn achievements while cheat options are turned on. If you want to collect achievements, you need to play cheat-free on a separate save.
Is there a button in developer mode that gives money?
There is no known money button. Developer mode changes simulation settings and does not give money. The only way to get money is the unlimited money option in the map settings.
