Minecraft /version command

Prints the Minecraft version the server or world runs on, with its data and resource pack versions.

Syntax

/version

Parts in square brackets are optional, parts in angle brackets are required. You do not type the brackets: Put your own value in their place.

Examples

/version

Prints the version name, protocol and pack versions in chat.

Good to know

  • Added in 1.21.6.
  • Works in a singleplayer world even with cheats off; on a server it needs permissions (like /seed).

How do I run this command?

Press T in game to open chat (or press / directly), type the command and press Enter. While typing, Tab completes the options. This command needs no cheats in a singleplayer world, but on a server it needs permission (operator (level 2)).
