Minecraft /teleport command
Moves a target to given coordinates, next to another entity or to another dimension.
Syntax
/tp <destination>
/tp <location>
/tp <targets> <location>
/tp <targets> <destination>
/tp <targets> <location> facing <facingLocation>
Parts in square brackets are optional, parts in angle brackets are required. You do not type the brackets: Put your own value in their place.
Arguments
| Argument | What it does |
|---|---|
| <targets> | The player or entity to move. Leave it out and you are the one teleported. |
| <location> | Destination coordinates as x y z. A tilde means a relative position: ~ ~10 ~ moves you 10 blocks up. |
| facing | The direction or entity to face after teleporting. |
Examples
/tp 100 70 -240
Teleports you to these coordinates.
/tp ~ ~50 ~
Moves you 50 blocks above where you are.
/tp Faruk @s
Pulls Faruk over to you.
/execute in the_nether run tp @s ~ ~ ~
Sends you to the matching spot in the Nether: X and Z are divided by 8.
Good to know
- tp and teleport are the same command.
- For teleporting between dimensions, use the execute in ... run tp pattern.
- A teleported entity keeps its falling speed: Teleport it from high up and it takes damage.
