GTA 6, Rockstar Games’ upcoming release set for November 19, has new details about how its story will play out. Players hoping to rush through Grand Theft Auto 6’s main story will face some roadblocks between missions.

Oyun Günlüğü reports, citing Dexerto, that Edge Magazine’s GTA 6 preview says the game uses “natural gating” to introduce pauses between missions.

Some jobs will require money first

Rockstar confirmed in August that players will need to gather money between missions before unlocking certain jobs. In other cases, there will be a natural waiting period. This differs from previous games, where a new mission marker appeared on the map right after a mission was completed. The system recalls Red Dead Redemption 2, where players had to sleep between some missions to reach the right time of day.

Many ways to earn cash

In GTA 6, players will be able to raise the necessary cash by robbing stores, stealing cars and hunting rare animals. Players who run into the police may be chased by K9 units, while spike strips used to stop cars appear more powerful than in previous games. A player’s criminal profile will also change how NPCs around Vice City react to them.

The map can be explored freely

Edge also noted that players will be free to explore the map, and parts of it won’t necessarily be locked off. Rockstar previously said the map of the state of Leonida is too big to show everything through story missions, so players will have to explore parts of it on their own.
