Football Manager 27, developed by Sports Interactive, is now free to play on PC and Mac ahead of its release. The free Launch Preview period runs until 18:00 GMT on November 3.
According to the press release Oyun Günlüğü received from SEGA, the FM27 Launch Preview is free for five days on Steam, Epic, the Microsoft Store, XBOX Game Pass and PC Game Pass. SEGA believes this is an industry first for an annual title. No additional sign-up is needed, so players can download the game from their preferred platform and start playing right away. Release times may vary by platform. On the XBOX side, the Launch Preview is only available to XBOX Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers.
All game modes available
All of Football Manager 27’s game modes are playable during the free period, including Shuffle Draft, the series’ new multiplayer experience. Sports Interactive says this year’s Launch Preview is closer in quality and finality to the launch version than the early play builds of previous games. However, the build contains information still under approval by rights holders. As a result, some club and player assets may be missing, and some data may not accurately reflect the real world.
Careers carry over to the full release
Careers started during the free period are fully compatible with both the paid Launch Preview period and the full release. This means players can continue their saves beyond November 10.
Sports Interactive Studio Director Miles Jacobson said: “When we announced FM27, we told our community that we wanted to show them more of the game before asking for their commitment; we’ve gone one step further with this year’s free play initiative. It’s the ultimate try-before-you-buy for everyone to make the call on our latest work.”
Pre-purchase and release date
Football Manager 27 is also available to pre-purchase now. SEGA-approved retailers are offering 10% off along with continued Launch Preview access from November 3 to November 10. Game Pass users will be able to continue their saves through their subscriptions. The game launches globally on all platforms on November 10, with a retail price of £49.99.
