Activision has shared all the details for Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1. Arriving November 6, the new season fully integrates the free-to-play game with Modern Warfare 4. Players can look forward to the new Hajin and Zodiac maps set on the Korean Peninsula, new gear like the Zipline Launcher and Grabber Drone, and Elite Perks found during matches.
According to information Oyun Günlüğü obtained from the official Call of Duty blog, the start of Season 1 also marks the launch of Call of Duty: Warzone on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing Hajin, Zodiac and all other maps and playlists to the handheld system for the first time. Meanwhile, starting with Season 1, Warzone will no longer be playable on PlayStation 4 and XBOX One as the game and Modern Warfare 4 move on from older generation hardware. Players who log in with the same linked Activision account will carry their progression over to a supported platform.
What changes with Modern Warfare 4 integration
On November 6, Player Level resets, letting players level up and optionally Prestige across Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone. Players will get access to all 33 Modern Warfare 4 launch weapons, plus the additional weapons coming in Season 1, each with Weapon Prestige and Warzone-specific Mastery Camos. Apex Attachments, Season 1 Operators, Daily Challenges, Calling Card Challenges, and Battle Pass and BlackCell progress are also part of the update.
On the gameplay side, Tactical Sprint becomes available to all Operators without a Perk, though its duration is slightly shorter. Players can now drag allies while reviving them, pulling them out of harm’s way. The season also brings additional weapon balance tuning, improved visibility across all maps and better footstep audio.
Content from previous games carries forward
Operators, Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints, Calling Cards, Emblems, Finishing Moves, Emotes, Sprays, Parachutes and Contrails from Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 will be available in Warzone starting in Season 1. The new Operator Skin Toggle gives players more control over the Operator Skins they see in Warzone.
While Modern Warfare 4 weapons offer the full weapon experience, all weapons from Modern Warfare 2 through Black Ops 7 remain accessible in the Legacy tab of the Loadout menu. Legacy Weapons can still be used but cannot be edited in Gunsmith and do not support Modern Warfare 4 features such as Mastery Camos, Reticle Challenges, Weapon Customization, Cosmetic Gunsmithing, and Build Sharing and Build Codes. Instead, a five-attachment version of each Legacy base weapon will be available, along with Legacy Blueprints with their existing attachment setups. These blueprints will initially be locked and can be unlocked through Player XP in the Armory.
New Battle Royale map: Hajin
Hajin takes Warzone to the Korean Peninsula for the first time and connects Battle Royale to the Modern Warfare 4 narrative. Operators will fight across 13 major points of interest in both North and South Korea, from crowded city streets and abandoned buildings to open farmland, winding rivers and forested hills. Hajin City’s central districts feature towering buildings, barricaded roads and fortified locations that reward coordinated squads, while rural areas such as Imjin Farmland favor long-range engagements and careful use of cover. Across the border, North Korean locations include the 14th Political Prison, Chang-san Air Base and Deadtown.
Variable weather, from clear skies to fog, wind, rain and distant storms, adds unpredictability to every match, and the development teams have worked to keep visibility a central factor regardless of conditions. The Battle Royale version of Hajin differs from the DMZ version in how the Edge Circle and gas move, the lack of a radioactive cloud at the Hanuel Nuclear Reactor, the available vehicles, and the distribution of interactable objects and loot caches.
The new map also brings a new Gulag. Players eliminated for the first time in Battle Royale will be sent to one of two versions of the Hajin Gulag, where they can win a 1v1 duel to redeploy. For the first time, spectators also get ground-level views. One symmetrical layout has partial walls over open ground, while the other features small sheds over a flagstone walkway. Both are affected by local weather, and many obstacles can be mantled.
New Resurgence map: Zodiac
Zodiac is a compact Resurgence map built around the DRC Advanced Systems drone assembly and manufacturing headquarters in South Korea. Combining factory interiors, research facilities, elevated rooftops, underground tunnels and coastal terrain, it features 10 points of interest: Admin, Trackline, Furnace, Solar, Old Mines, Dispatch, Depot, Sentinel, Cooling and R&D.
Trackline’s double railway and moving trains add an unpredictable layer to the action, while underground tunnels let squads emerge from unexpected angles. Interactive elements such as moving solar panels, furnace conveyor belts and explosive fuel barrels offer new ways to use the environment. Zodiac was developed by Beenox, the team behind Rebirth Island and Vondel, in close collaboration with Infinity Ward.
Verdansk and Rebirth Island return
Verdansk returns later in Season 1 with newer landmarks including the Signal Station, Grazna-7 Launch Complex, Overlook skyscraper and Drone Labs. Rebirth Island also returns in Season 1, bringing back close-quarters fights across the prison, control center and surrounding industrial compounds.
Zipline Launcher and Grabber Drone
The new Zipline Launcher Field Upgrade fires anchors to create a zipline for scaling high points and moving across the terrain. Once deployed, it stays on the map until retrieved or destroyed. The entire squad can use it, as can enemy Operators, and players can use their pistol while ziplining.
The rare Grabber Drone can pick up everything from loot and environmental objects to other Operators. Players can use it to bring a downed teammate closer for a revive, retrieve hard-to-reach weapons and items, and even grab Buy Station loot, but its limited battery life means actions must be chosen carefully.
New gameplay systems
New interactive objects include fuel barrels that players can move and the Grabber Drone can carry. Dumpsters, concrete cylinders and other objects can be pushed and pulled, while pyramids can be placed on roads to block vehicles from critical pathways. Most of these objects are found across Hajin, Zodiac and Verdansk.
The new Grind for Royalty system generates individual challenges based on personal player stats. Royalty challenges reset every season and reward two Weapon Camos per season, one static and one animated. In Season 1, players can earn the Gold Excellence and Gold Mosaic camos.
Weapon Augments, available in limited quantities from “Fly Buy” portable Buy Stations dropped by drones, give weapons significant bonuses for that match. Season 1 introduces three: The CQC Augment improves aiming and sprint-to-fire speed, the Marksman Augment improves bullet velocity and damage range, and the Handling Augment speeds up reloads and reduces first shot recoil.
Ground Ops offer valuable loot and advantages through drillable high-value safes, surveillance towers that reveal enemy positions and legendary loot chests, drones that can be shot down for their cargo, and loot-filled radioactive barrels located with a Geiger counter. In Resurgence only, the Weapon Trade Station lets players exchange their weapon for a higher-rarity version with more attachments, while Drop Kits boost the next redeployment: Insured brings faster redeployment with all cash, Loadout returns players with their current Loadout, Armored adds full armor, bonus Perks and a Self-Revive, and Radar provides an active Radar Ping and supply sweep.
Modes
Battle Royale and Battle Royale Casual take place on Hajin and Verdansk, while Resurgence and Resurgence Casual are played on Zodiac and Rebirth Island. Limited-time modes are also available at launch. Rally Point on Zodiac is a 20-player training ground with no circle, infinite Resurgence and drop-in/drop-out play. Players can complete contracts, fight Hostile Soldiers, take a breather in Neutral Grounds and form alliances of up to four players, while also unlocking an exclusive weapon blueprint and two weapon camos.
Massive Resurgence brings 120 players to Hajin, while Loaded Resurgence supports 44 players on Zodiac and Rebirth Island. In Loaded Resurgence, players deploy with their chosen Loadout, keep their weapons after death and earn Perks through eliminations. Rockets and Snipers and Extreme Resurgence arrive in the Mid-Season.
Perks and equipment
Season 1 features 18 Perks in total. Fifteen can be selected in the Loadout across three slots before a match, while the remaining three are new Elite Perks acquired during matches. Elite Perks add a fourth Perk slot and can only be found at Buy Stations or by completing Supply Run Contracts, with only one equipped at a time. Athleticism improves agility when strafing, crouching and aiming, Phantom makes players undetectable to enemy recon Killstreaks, equipment and Perks, and Fieldcraft rapidly regenerates armor and equipment.
Loadouts offer 8 Tactical and 10 Lethal Equipment options. Of the 13 Field Upgrades that can be scavenged or bought at Buy Stations, seven are new with Modern Warfare 4: Grabber Drone, Perk Supply Box, Razor Wire, Redeploy Drone, SAM Airburst Turret, Smoke Wall and Zipline Launcher. New additions among the 9 Killstreaks include the Aerial Scanner, Artillery Beacon, Bomb Glider, Bombing Run, Combat Drone and Impact Warhead, while vehicles include the Sedan, Grizzly, Polaris Dagor, Cargo Truck, LTV, Aston Martin Dreadnought, Helo and RHIB.
Warzone Mastery Camos
Season 1 also introduces Warzone Mastery Camos. After unlocking the Military, Special and Completionist camos for a weapon, players can access the Mastery grind with Parallax, Damascus Reforged and Empyros. Parallax requires getting 5 kills in a match 300 times, Damascus Reforged requires getting 2 kills without plating 200 times, and Empyros requires placing in the top 5 with at least 6 kills 75 times. The in-game Return to Call of Duty: Warzone Event also offers the Renaissance, Violet Striker and Neutral Ground camos, with more details coming in the Season 1 Reloaded blog closer to the Mid-Season update.
