Fallout 4: Weapon and ammo codes

Every weapon and every ammo type in Fallout 4 has a fixed ID, and the player.additem command puts the weapon straight into your inventory. This page collects heavy weapons like the Fat Man and the minigun, rifles, energy weapons, four unique weapons and the most used ammo types. A weapon comes on its own, so add its ammo separately. Pick any weapon that is not listed from the generator below.

Weapon and ammo codes: Common questions

How do I add a weapon in Fallout 4?
Type player.additem followed by the weapon's ID and the amount, for example player.additem 000bd56f 1 gives you a Fat Man. The weapon lands in your inventory instantly, but its ammo does not come with it, so add the ammo separately.
What is the Fallout 4 ammo code?
Every ammo type has its own ID. For example, type player.additem 000e6b2e 10 for mini nukes or player.additem 0001f66c 1000 for 5mm rounds. The number at the end sets how many rounds you get.
Which weapon uses which ammo?
The Fat Man and Big Boy use mini nukes, the Gauss rifle uses 2mm EC, the minigun uses 5mm, the laser gun uses fusion cells and the plasma gun uses plasma cartridges. The Gatling laser runs on fusion cores. The combat rifle fires .45 rounds by default.
Why are add-on weapons not on the list?
For items from add-ons like Automatron, Far Harbor and Nuka-World, the first two digits of the ID change with the load order. That is why the list only has base game weapons. Find an add-on weapon's ID in your own game by typing help "the weapon's English name" 4 into the console.
