These commands change your country's overall state and the flow of the game. If you enter the stability command without a number, stability goes up to the maximum. With the country switch command you can take over another country in the middle of the game, and with observer mode you can watch the world without playing any country. The event command brings up an event right away if you know its ID.

Adds prestige

Gives as much prestige as the number at the end. Sources differ between 5 and 6 on the amount given without a number, so typing the number yourself gives a clearer result.
Gives levels in every technology type

Gives levels in admin, diplomatic and military technology. Sources differ on whether the number is the levels added or the target level, so try a small number.
Switches the country you play
tag TUR
You take over the country of the three-letter tag at the end, and TUR in the example is the Ottomans. The country you leave is taken over by the AI.
Switches to observer mode

You watch the world without playing any country. According to the Paradox wiki, messages are no longer shown in this mode and the game does not pause by itself.
Sources describe returning from this mode differently. Make a save before you try it.
Fires an event
event <event id>
Type the event's ID at the end and the event runs without waiting. After the ID you can also add a country tag and an option number.
- Type debug_mode in the console to turn on debug mode, and event IDs appear in the tooltips.
- Note down the ID of the event you want to fire.
- Type event in the console followed by the ID and press Enter.

How do I use the country switch command?
Type tag in the console followed by the country's three-letter tag, for example tag TUR for the Ottomans. The game puts you in charge of that country, and the country you leave is taken over by the AI.
Where do I find country tags?
Type debug_mode in the console to turn on debug mode, and the tag appears when you move the mouse over a country's territory. Common ones are TUR for the Ottomans, BYZ for Byzantium, FRA for France and CAS for Castile.
How many levels does the technology command give?
Sources differ here. The Paradox wiki says the command gives levels in every technology type, while some guides say it brings your technology to the level you type. It is safest to try a small number first and check the technology screen.
Can I return from observer mode?
Sources give different answers on this. Some say you can take over a country with the country switch command, while others say the mode cannot be turned off in that game. We recommend making a save before you try it.
