In Genshin Impact most of the damage comes not from one character but from elements triggering each other. That is why judging a character on their own is misleading: Someone who looks average can take the top seat in the right team, and a strong character can fall flat in the wrong one.
Keep the roles apart while ranking: Main DPS, sub DPS and support or healer characters should compete among themselves. Hover over a card to see a character's element, weapon and rarity; the pool is fed by the current roster.
No. Some 4-star characters do a 5-star's job in the right team, and their constellations are much easier to complete.
The content you play. For the Spiral Abyss a damage-focused ranking makes sense; for exploring the open world, durability and ease of exploration matter more.
