Raw Power Games, the developer of Chronicles: Medieval, has announced that the funding behind the studio is no longer in place and that the studio is now at real risk of closing.

According to the statement from Raw Power Games reported by Oyun Günlüğü, the studio’s funding fell through due to circumstances outside its control. The team stated that without this funding they cannot continue building Chronicles: Medieval, adding that they wanted to share the news plainly and directly with players.

Early Access was within reach

In its statement, the studio said what makes the situation hurt most is how close they are to Early Access. Noting that the world they have been building for years is finally starting to feel alive, the team said its members in Copenhagen and working remotely have put everything into the game and are carrying the heaviest weight right now.

Raw Power Games also thanked players who wishlisted the game, shared it and passionately debated its historical accuracy.

“Not going down without a fight”

The studio said it does not yet know how this will end, but in the spirit of its game, it is not going down without a fight. The team added that talks are taking place with everyone who might help them find a way forward.

While saying it cannot promise a happy ending, Raw Power Games pledged to be honest with players whether the news is good or bad, and that players will hear it from the studio first. The studio asked those who want to support it to keep Chronicles: Medieval on their wishlists and keep talking about the game.
