Wanted level codes work one step at a time. To clear your stars completely, enter the lower code as many times as your current level. The raise code is for players who want to make the chaos bigger on purpose; climbing to five stars and trying to survive is one of the most fun things to do in GTA 5.

Police and wanted level cheats: Common questions

How do I clear all my stars?
The lower code removes one star each time you enter it. If you have three stars, you need to enter it three times. There is no code that clears them all at once.
What is the raise wanted level code for?
It pulls the police onto you on purpose. Players use it to climb to five stars and try to escape, or to see the military response.
Why does the police chase not stop after the code?
The code only removes the star. Officers who can see you at that moment may stay on your tail for a short while. Getting out of their line of sight solves it.
